Oklahoma Tax Brackets
Like the federal tax rates, the state of Oklahoma’s income tax bracket structure is progressive. However, its tax rates are below the average rates across the country. Based on filing status, here’s a look at the brackets.
|Tax Rate||Single Filers / Married Filing Separately||Married Filing Jointly / Heads of Household|
Oklahoma Deductions & Personal Exemption
Taxpayers in Oklahoma can itemize their deductions on their state returns as long as they did the same on their federal returns. A standard deduction can also be claimed if a taxpayer’s itemized deductions are not greater in value than the standard deduction amount. For the married couples filing separately and single filers, the standard deduction is $6,350. It doubles in value for taxpayer’s filing joint returns. Those filing as head of household can claim a standard deduction of $9,350.
Regardless of filing status, all taxpayers can claim a personal exemption of up to $1,000.
