Vermont tax brackets
Like many other states, Vermont’s state income tax is progressive. Its top rate, however, is the seventh highest in the country. The Vermont income tax brackets by filing status are as follow:

Vermont tax credits and deductions
Numerous tax credits are available to the residents of Vermont in addition to tax deductions. Two of the more popular tax credits available are the Dependent and Child Care Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
The Child and Dependent Care Credit is equal to 72% of the federal credit, while the EITC is equal to 38%.
