It’s that time of year again! Affordable Care Act (ACA) open enrollment for 2017 officially kicked-off this week and will remain open through Jan. 31, 2017.
To ensure you have health insurance starting Jan. 1, 2017, you must submit your application for coverage before Dec. 15, 2016. (Residents in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Washington have until Dec. 23, 2017 to sign up for coverage that starts on the first day of the new year.)
If you wait to apply for health insurance after your state’s deadline, coverage may not start until Feb. 1 or even March 1, 2017, leaving you without health insurance for the first part of the year.
